Gulls Announce 2003-04 Schedule

San Diego Gulls News Release
SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls have announced it's 2003-2004 schedule, the East Coast Hockey League club announced today.
The Gulls will begin its first season in the ECHL on the road against the Bakersfield Condors Saturday, Oct. 18th. The home opener is slated for Nov. 1st versus the Idaho Steelheads. The Gulls will be one of seven teams in the Western Division of the Western Conference. In addition to Idaho, the former West Coast Hockey League teams in the division include the Long Bong Beach Ice Dogs, Anchorage Aces, Bakersfield Condors, Fresno Falcons and the Las Vegas Wranglers.
The Blue and Orange will also face off against four other opponents in its conference including the Arkansas Riverblades, Louisiana IceGators, Mississippi Sea Wolves and the Texas Wildcatters. In addition the club will see the Florida Everblades, Charlotte Checkers and South Carolina Stingrays from the Eastern Conference.
The ECHL will have new alignments for 03-04 with 19 teams playing in two divisions in the Eastern Conference and 13 teams playing in two divisions in the Western Conference. The playoff format has yet to be determined and will be voted on by the Board of Governers at a later date.

WESTERN CONFERENCE
Eastern Division - Arkansas RiverBlades, Columbus Cottonmouths, Louisiana IceGators, Mississippi Sea Wolves, Pensacola Ice Pilots, and Texas Wildcatters
Western Division - Anchorage Aces, Bakersfield Condors, Fresno Falcons, Idaho Steelheads, Las Vegas Wranglers, Long Beach Ice Dogs, and San Diego Gulls
EASTERN CONFERENCE
Northern Division - Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies, Cincinnati Cyclones, Dayton Bombers, Johnstown Chiefs, Peoria Rivermen, Reading Royals, Toledo Storm, Trenton Titans, and Wheeling Nailers
Southern Division - Augusta Lynx, Charlotte Checkers, Columbia Inferno, Florence Pride, Florida Everblades, Greensboro Generals, Greenville Grrrowl, Gwinnett Gladiators, Roanoke Express and South Carolina Stingrays

Notes: The Gulls will face of against the Fresno Falcons in Game 6 of the Taylor Cup Championships this Saturday at 7 p.m. The Gulls lead the series 3-2. Tickets are still available through the Sports Arena Box office or by contacting Ticketmaster.
