Sea Wolves Announce 2003-04 Schedule

BILOXI, Miss. –The Mississippi Sea Wolves of the East Coast Hockey League announced their 72-game schedule for 2003-04 regular season.

The ECHL will have new alignments for 2003-04 with 20 teams playing in two divisions in the Eastern Conference and 12 teams playing in two divisions in the Western Conference. The playoff format will be determined and voted upon by the Board of Governors at a later date.

Mississippi will play its eighth season in the ECHL in the new Eastern Division of the Western Conference with the Arkansas RiverBlades, Columbus (Georgia) Cottonmouths, Louisiana IceGators, Pensacola Ice Pilots and the expansion Texas Wildcatters, based out of Beaumont.

The Sea Wolves open the season on the road at the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana versus the IceGators on Friday, October 17.

Mississippi's home opener is Saturday, October 18 against Pensacola.

The longest Sea Wolves homestand is five games from January 13 to January 25. Mississippi's longest road trip lasts six games from November 14 to November 21.

The Sea Wolves 36-game home schedule features seven games against Louisiana. Mississippi welcomes Arkansas, Pensacola and Texas on six occasions each. Other teams visiting the Mississippi Coast Coliseum are new division rival Columbus for three games, while the Columbia Inferno visit for two games on December 30 and January 2 for a rematch of the Southern Conference Finals and the Florida Everblades also make two stops at the Wolves Den.

In addition, Mississippi will host two new ECHL teams based in California, the Fresno Falcons and San Diego Gulls both make one appearance in Biloxi. Two other teams that will make one trip each to the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, include the Florence (formerly Pee Dee) Pride and Greensboro Generals.

Mississippi's monthly breakdown of its home games consist of three games in October, November has five games on the home slate, six home games are scheduled for December, there are seven in the month of January, February features seven contests, six in March and two home dates in April.

The day of the week breakdown for the Sea Wolves home games include six Tuesday dates, one Thursday game, nine Friday contests, 13 games on Saturday and seven Sunday dates.

Sea Wolves 2003-04 season tickets start at $21 per month and parking is free for all home games. Call the hockey office and ask about payment plans for season tickets at (228) 275-WOLF (9653).
