Bombers Announce 2003-04 Schedule

The Dayton Bombers Professional Hockey Team has announced its 2003-2004 regular season schedule. The East Coast Hockey League, now the largest league in professional hockey, will open its 2003-04 campaign on Friday, October 17 with 32 teams (including nine new markets) in 18 states playing a record 1,152 games.

The Dayton Bombers will begin their 12th season in the East Coast Hockey League and 36-game home schedule with the first of six Ervin J. Nutter Center encounters against the intrastate rival Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday, October 18. As will be the case with all non-Sunday Bombers' home contests during the 2003-2004 campaign, the game will begin at 7:00 p.m. All Sunday games (with the exception of March 28's special start time of 6:00 p.m.) will start at 4:00 p.m. and feature a post-game skate with the Bombers' players.

Some of the other highlights of the Bombers' 2003-2004 home schedule include six tilts with longtime, frequent foe Toledo, five meetings with archrival Wheeling, and four each with divisional competitors Peoria and Johnstown.

The Bombers will also host two games each against the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies, Trenton Titans, and Reading Royals, all of whom are additions to the newly christened, nine-team Northern Division in the expanded East Coast Hockey League's Eastern Conference. In addition, the Bombers will entertain one of the ECHL's new teams, the Idaho (Boise) Steelheads, on Sunday, February 15.
