Combs Scores His 24th of the Year in Loss

Boise, ID - Stockton Thunder forward Jack Combs makes his presence felt with his second goal since joining the Thunder, but that would be the lone goal scored by the Thunder as they fall to the Idaho Steelheads 4-1 Friday night in Boise. Tyler Shattock had the primary assist on Combs' 24th goal of the year, extending Shattock's point streak to four games, while Cody Reichard made countless amount of timely saves between the pipes. Nevertheless, the Steelheads were able to sneak four goals past Reichard and defeat the Thunder for the second time in three nights. The Thunder and Steelheads will go head-to-head Saturday night at CenturyLink Arena in the finale of their three game series.

1st Period

-IDH goal: F Ludwig Karlsson (9) defensive zone turnover leads to a shot from just inside the far side faceoff dot that gets past the goalie (unassisted), 8:17

-IDH goal: F Wade MacLeod (26) shot from the bottom of the far side faceoff circle squeaks through the goalie (Karlsson, Case assists), 17:46

2nd Period

-IDH goal: F Colton Beck (15) cross ice pass to the near side faceoff dot leads to shot that goes high past the outstretched goalie (Bast, Vance assists), 2:58

-THUNDER GOAL: F Jack Combs (24) puck is worked behind the net and walked right out to the doorstep where it is stuffed under the goalie and across the goal line (Shattock, Phillips assists), 10:38

-IDH goal: F Jason Bast (26) one timer from the top of the crease is tapped over the goalie's glove hand (Patterson assist), 18:13

-Shots: STK - 3 | IDH - 16

3rd Period
