Archibald Named Grand Vue Park Player of the Month
March 6, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Wheeling Nailers News Release
WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, have named forward Josh Archibald as the Grand Vue Park Player of the Month for February.
Archibald earns the honor of Grand Vue Park Player of the Month, after leading the Nailers in scoring during February, as he produced six goals, four assists, and ten points, while appearing in eight of the team's ten games. For the most part, Josh's goals came in bunches, as he netted a pair of tallies in a 3-1 win over Elmira on February 8th, before collecting Wheeling's third hat trick of the season, as part of a four-point day in a crucial 4-1 victory at Kalamazoo on February 22nd. The Regina, SK native joined the Nailers for the first time in Reading on February 4th, and promptly made his way onto the scoresheet in each of his first four contests, ultimately finishing with at least one point in six of eight games before being assigned back to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
Each month, the Nailers select a lucky fan to win a weekend stay with friends and/or family in a luxurious cabin at Grand Vue Park, on behalf of the honored player. February's winner is Kurt Torpey.
The Nailers will play their next three games on the road, starting on Saturday at Indy, before returning home for three straight contests on March 13th, 14th, and 17th.
The Nailers next homestand will take place from March 13th-17th .
Friday the 13th will be a 7:35 face-off in a key North Divsion tilt against the Kalamazoo Wings. One lucky fan will leave with a new TV on Flat Screen Friday, while 2,000 fans will get a free player poster. That night will also be a Frosty Friday .
On Saturday the 14th, the Stanley Cup comes to WesBanco Arena, as Wheeling faces Elmira at 7:35 . Three other NHL trophies will be on display on Memorabilia Night, which will also feature a trading card set giveaway and post game autograph session. The Pittsburgh Pirate Parrot will be at the game as well.
Tuesday the 17th is a 7:05 clash with the Toledo Walleye on St. Patrick's Day. Kids tickets will be $5.
