Columbus Recalls Defenseman Aaron Rome

Syracuse, NY (February 21, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled defenseman Aaron Rome.

Rome, 25, has appeared in 48 games for the Crunch this season, ranking third on the club and first among defensemen in scoring with seven goals, 21 assists and 153 penalty minutes. He ranks second on the team in power play points (15) and is tied for first in power play assists (13).

A native of Nesbitt, Manitoba, Rome was acquired in a trade by Columbus along with Clay Wilson from Anaheim in exchange for Geoff Platt, November 15, 2007.

The Crunch's next game is Sunday, February 22 as they travel to Hamilton to take on the Bulldogs. The Crunch return home on Friday, February 27 to face Grand Rapids at the War Memorial at Oncenter at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at 315-473-4444, stopping by the Oncenter Box Office, located on the State Street side of the War Memorial or by calling Ticketmaster at 315-472-0700.
