Collins Named All-Star Idol

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL in association with Rbk Hockey announced today that American Conference rookie forward Sean Collins of the Wheeling Nailers received more than 250 votes to be chosen as the 2006 Rbk Hockey All-Star Idol.

Following the ECHL All-Star Game and continuing until Jan. 30, more than 400 online ballots were cast by fans to determine Rbk Hockey All-Star Idol.

Collins was called up to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) immediately following the All-Star Game. In his first 39 games with Wheeling, Collins led the team in scoring with 50 points on 16 goals and 34 assists. He is still the leading scorer for Wheeling and has been among the top rookie scorers all season long. He has played in 4 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and has yet to register a point. The Reading, Massachusetts native joined the Nailers after a stellar career at the University of New Hampshire where he recorded 173 points over four years.[
