
Collins Top Choice for All-Star Idol

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL in association with Rbk Hockey announced
on Tuesday that American Conference rookie forward Sean Collins of the
Wheeling Nailers received more than 250 votes to be chosen as the 2006
Rbk Hockey All-Star Idol.
Following the ECHL All-Star Game and continuing until Jan. 30, more than
400 online ballots were cast by fans to determine Rbk Hockey
All-Star Idol.
National Conference rookie forward Shawn Snider of the Phoenix RoadRunners
finished second followed by American Conference rookie forward Luke Fulghum
of the Pensacola Ice Pilots and National Conference rookie forward Mike
Lalonde.
The game was televised live for the fifth year in a row and available in
more than 80 million homes on The NHL Network, NHL Center Ice and America
One as well as being available in Reading (WTVE), Dayton (Time Warner
Cable), San Diego (Cox Communications) and Trenton (WZBN). It was
rebroadcast twice by OLN, the cable home of the NHL, and as well as by
Comcast SportsNet West and Comcast Sports Southeast. For the fourth year in
a row, the television broadcast was shown live online by Yahoo! and more
than 1,600 connections were made during the live telecast and over 7,700
connections were made in the 72 hours following the game which is still
available on demand at Yahoo!
The audio broadcast was produced by NHL Radio and was available live on XM
Satellite Radio to more than six million subscribers as well as on The Team
950 AM in South Carolina and on 1350 KTIK The Ticket in Idaho. For the
eighth year in a row, the audio broadcast was available live online by
Yahoo! and the broadcast had over 1,000 connections.
The official league web site ECHL.com had more than 18.4 million page
impressions and averaged over 74,000 page impressions per day in 2005, an
increase of 45 percent from 2004 and 171 percent from 2003. ECHL.com had a
record 444,064 user sessions in January and exceeded two million page
impressions for the second January in a row and the sixth time in the past
13 months.
