Peoria, Ill. (January 29, 2004) â General Manager Bart Rogers of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that Kurt Busch â a member of the Coca-Cola Family of Racing and Roush Racing's No. 97 car driver â will visit Carver Arena on Tuesday, March 9, when the Rivermen face off against the Trenton Titans. Busch will sign autographs from 6-7:30 p.m. on the Main Concourse.
"Coca-Cola is to be commended for making it happen for our fans," Rogers said. "We couldn't be more pleased that such a premier NASCAR NEXTEL Cup driver in Kurt Busch is coming to Peoria."
Busch begins his fourth NASCAR NEXTEL Cup season in 2004 with Sharpie and IRWIN Industrial Tools as co-primary sponsors of his No. 97 car. Before joining the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup circuit in 2001, Busch collected four wins and five runner-up finishes over 24 races in the 2000 Craftsman Truck Series. He captured Rookie of the Year honors and second place in the Craftsman Truck Series Championship. He competed in seven of the last eight Winston Cup events that season.
