Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release

Greenville, S.C. - The Greenville Swamp Rabbits (3-1-0), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, erased a two-goal deficit with three unanswered goals on Sunday to earn a 3-2 victory over the Florida Everblades (4-2-0) at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

Emerson Clark scored the game-winner with just 2:55 left in the third period, while Josh Nicholls notched his first two-goal performance of the season. Between the pipes, Adam Morrison (2-0-0) made 24 saves and recorded his ninth consecutive victory dating back to February 7, 2015.

The Swamp Rabbits also improved to 2-0-0 on SANDLAPPER Securities Rink this season.

The Everblades struck first nearly seven minutes into the opening period with a power-play goal from forward Corey Cowick. With Tyler Elbrecht in the box for tripping, Kevin Montgomery cycled the puck to the left point where Justin Agosta drove a one-timer on target that was tipped in front by Cowick. It was Cowick's first goal of the season at the 6:46 mark.

Florida bolstered its lead prior to the first intermission when Cowick registered his second goal of the contest. At the 17:40 mark, Ethan Werek slipped a pass into a crowd at the front of Greenville's cage, where Cowick jammed it home for a 2-0 advantage.

Despite the deficit, the Swamp Rabbits raced back in the middle frame to tie the contest behind a pair of goals from Nicholls. At 5:12, the third-year forward sliced the deficit in half when he funneled a shot inside the right post from at the bottom of the right circle. The shot bounced off of Everblades' goaltender Anthony Peters and in for his second tally of the season.

Greenville's second-leading goal-scorer from a year ago, Nicholls netted his second tally of the game and his third of the season less than five minutes later. At the bottom of the right hash marks, Nicholls collected a feed from Jack Combs and beat Peters glove-side for the equalizer.

With the score still knotted six minutes into the final frame, a would-be go-ahead goal off the stick of Ryan Rashid rattled off the iron following an odd-man rush down the ice.

Clark punched home the eventual game-winning goal at 17:55 of the third period following a rebound created by Elbrecht's blast from the top of the slot. Peters denied the initial chance, but kicked the rebound to Clark who finished from the doorstep for his third goal of the season. Clark's three goals are tied with Bretton Cameron for the team lead.

Greenville finished the game 0-for-1 on the power play and 0-for-1 on the penalty kill. Peters (1-2-0) made 22 saves in the loss.

The Everblades outshot Greenville 26-25.
