Elmira Jackals News Release

ELMIRA, NY - October 25, 2015 - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that they have acquired forward Tyler Currier from the Orlando Solar Bears in exchange for defenseman Brad Richard.

Currier, 27, comes to Elmira via Orlando after he was acquired in an offseason trade with the Missouri Mavericks. The Anchorage, Alaska native has not appeared in a contest with the Solar Bears this season. Last year, Currier split the season between the Alaska Aces and Mavericks, combining for 16 points and 89 penalty minutes in 52 games. The 6-foot-2 205-pound forward skated with Missouri in the now-defunct CHL as a rookie recording nine points and 22 penalty minutes in 35 games. Prior to turning pro, Currier attended the University of Alaska-Anchorage where he collected 15 points and 116 penalty minutes in 103 NCAA games.

Richard, 26, has skated in two contests with the Jackals this season without recording a point.
