Chupp and Schnell Returned to Wheeling

WHEELING,WV. -The Wheeling Nailers, ECHL Affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, announced today that right wing Ryan Schnell has been returned on loan to the teamL. In addition, center Cody Chupp has been released from his professional try-out agreement and will return to Wheeling.

Schnell has played in eight games for the Nailers on the year, compiling 75 minutes of penalties. He has also notched an assist and 46 PIM in 12 contests with the Penguins. The 22-year old third-year pro has totaled in 96 games with the Nailers over the past two seasons along with five goals, six assists and 331 PIM.

Chupp has registered four assists in 13 games over three stints with the Penguins this season. The Big Rapids, MI-native has recorded 11 goals, 11 assists and six penalty minutes in 29 games for the Nailers. A second-year pro, Chupp appeared in 58 matches with the Texas Stars in 2010-11, registering five goals and eight assists.

The Nailers return to WesBanco Arena this weekend for two exciting games. On Friday night February 10th, the Nailers host the Toledo Walleye at 7:35 PM. On Saturday February 11th, the Trenton Titans come to town for a 7:35 PM face-off.
