TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: Tonight, Cincinnati hopes to wrap up its five-game homestand with a win as they face the Trenton Titans for the final time this season. The Cyclones have earned victories in both of the previous two meetings with Trenton this year, and have posted a 24-12-2-0 record against the Titans/Devils since 2006. Tonight's tilt is also Pink in the Rink Night, featuring pink ice and specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game to benefit Pink Ribbon Girls.
TONIGHT'S PROMOTION: PINK IN THE RINK NIGHT - The first 2,000 fans will receive a FREE Cyclones Ribbon Magnet. Plus, the first 1,000 female fans will receive a pink carnation courtesy of Hiatt's Florist! Cincinnati will also be wearing specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game to benefit Pink Ribbon Girls!
SCOUTING THE TITANS: Trenton is currently suffering through an ECHL-long five game losing skid and currently pulls up the rear in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 15-24-3-3. They have won just two games out of their last ten and have been outscored this season by a combined total of 157-130. Rob Bordson is Trenton's active leader in offense with 36 points (15 goals, 21 assists) in 31 games. Ryan Hayes has also been among the Titans' offensive leaders; he has notched 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) in 40 games. To make matters worse for Vince Williams' club, they have lost both of their regular goaltenders to AHL call-ups. With Dave Caruso loaned to Charlotte and Brad Phillips recalled to Adirondack, the Titans will rely on Nick Niedert between the pipes tonight. This year, Niedert has spent time with Elmira, Knoxville (SPHL) and Danbury (FHL). Most recently with Danbury, he was 5-6-0 with a 4.07 GAA. In three games with the Elmira Jackals, Niedert earned a 2-0-0 record with a 2.07 GAA.
About Wednesday Night vs. Toledo: Harrison Reed's third period goal proved to be the game-winner as the Walleye earned a 2-1 win over the Cyclones in front of 2,078 at U.S. Bank Arena. Dan Eves posted the lone tally for Cincinnati, extending his goal-scoring streak to four games.
On the Brink of More Records: With his team-leading 12th multi-point game of the season last Saturday, team captain Mathieu Aubin now has 250 points in his pro career and 191 in his Cyclones career. After tonight, he will be just one game away from 200 in his Cincinnati career. He ranks third on the franchise point list (191), goals list (80), and game-winning goals list (12) while ranking second in assists (111).
Eves is Rolling: Cyclones forward Dan Eves has notched a goal in four consecutive games, which is tied for the longest active goal-scoring streak in the ECHL.
Cookin' at Home: Cincinnati remains one of the top teams in the ECHL on home ice. They have earned the third best home winning perentage of any team in the league (77.2%). Only Alaska and Las Vegas have been better in 2011-12.
