IN JUST A FEW HOURS...

The Elmira Jackals kick off the weekend at the Sovereign Center when they take on the Reading Royals at 7:05 p.m. The Jackals are searching for their first victory since Jan. 21 as they try to snap a six-game winless skid, a stretch during which Elmira has taken just two points with a pair of shootout losses. Elmira fell in its last outing on Saturday to Chicago, 2-1, while Reading prevailed in overtime in its latest game on Saturday, 5-4 in Florida.

DIVISIONAL CONTESTS LOOM

Elmira kicks off a stretch of four-straight divisional contests tonight, playing the first of two-straight games in Reading before finishing off the weekend on Sunday in Trenton against the Titans. The Jackals have not lost in regulation to the Royals since Nov. 13 and have not fallen to the Titans since Nov. 25. Elmira is tied with Wheeling for first place in the division at 55 points and will meet the Nailers at First Arena this upcoming Tuesday.

NO REST FOR THE WEARY

Tonight's game begins the busiest stretch of the 2011-2012 season for the Jackals. Elmira will play 12 games over the next 17 days and 13 in the next 20 to finish out the month of February. After this month is over, the Jackals will have only 14 games left in the regular season. Overall, Elmira plays a total of 16 contests in February.
