Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, announced today that goaltender Allen York has been recalled to the Columbus Blue Jackets (NHL) and defenseman Brett Motherwell has been loaned to the Springfield Falcons (AHL).

He has appeared in four games with Columbus this season, collecting a 3.53 GAA and .878 save percentage. The Wetaskiwin, Alberta, native made his NHL debut against the Detroit Red Wings on October 25, and started his first NHL game on October 29 against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Express will also be without the services of Motherwell, who makes his second trip to the American Hockey League this season, both with the Springfield Falcons. He previously appeared in two games with the Falcons from January 19 through the 25. The St. Charles, IL, native recorded an assist and two penalty minutes with Springfield during that span. Motherwell spent all of last season with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL, earning 18 points (4g, 14a) in 60 games. He has played 21 games with Chicago this season, picking up eight assists.
The Express battle the South Carolina Stingrays tonight, and finish off a six-game road trip in Gwinnett tomorrow and in Greenville on Sunday. Chicago then returns home on Friday, February 17, for a Dollar Friday at the Sears Centre Arena featuring one dollar beers and one dollar hot dogs.
