Lake County Captains News Release
Tis the Season for Summer Fun at Classic Park! Celebrate Christmas in July with the Captains on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19.
The most wonderful weekend of the Summer begins on July 18 with Saturday Night Fireworks presented by Monreal Funeral Home & Cremation Service and will feature a Christmas theme. The game is a Faith Night, and there will be a special pre-game Catholic Mass. It is also Go Green Night, which features a Reuseable Grocery Bag Giveaway for the first 1,500 fans presented by Lake County Solid Waste District.
Christmas in July continues on Sunday, July 19 with the annual A Captains Story Bobblehead Giveaway presented by Lake Health. The first 1,500 fans through the gates will receive the popular bobblehead. This year's design features Skipper wearing Ralphie's famous cowboy costume.
The weekend concludes with Sunday Night Fireworks presented by Discount Drug Mart. The post-game fireworks extravaganza will be set to your favorite Christmas music.
Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling "MiLB Grand Slam Tour" comes to Classic Park, home of the Lake County Captains, TOMORROW NIGHT and tickets for this inaugural event are on sale now.
The tour will feature stops from Florida to California and several points in between throughout the Summer months. Tickets starting at only $10 will be available on-line at CaptainsBaseball.com, in-person at the Classic Park Box Office or via telephone 440.954.WINS.
A limited number of VIP tickets, which include a pre-event meet-and-greet on the field with the athletes and prime seating in the Grandstand are only $40. Regular Grandstand tickets are only $20 each while 20-person luxury suites are available for only $600.
Legendary wrestling superstar "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner will be joined by the hottest faction in wrestling today the "Bullet Club," and former NFL star turned wrestler Quinn "Moose" Ojinnaka, along with other elite athletes from around the world as they appear at the July 11 tour stop in Lake County. Additional information about the complete wrestling card for the Eastlake stop will be announced in the coming weeks.
The event is part of a grassroots approach building toward the first GFW broadcast event on Friday, July 24 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Minor-league parks operated by both private ownership and municipalities have agreed to play host to Global Force Wrestling shows when their baseball-playing tenants are out of town. It's an easy win for the parks, which gain another great source for revenue.
For GFW it's a chance to build momentum, show off its roster and deliver on its mission statement to be the most fan interactive brand in sports entertainment.
"These ballparks are the center of attention in the summer in most of these cities, and we're eager to get out there and mix with our fans and show them what the GFW brand is all about," said Jeff Jarrett, Global Force Wrestling founder and CEO.
Don't miss a special Thursday Night Fireworks show presented by Center for Dental Health on July 23! The Captains will take on the Fort Wayne TinCaps at 7 PM that night. The game will be followed by the fireworks display set to the music of everyone's favorite Top 40 Hits!
