SYRACUSE, NY - Wilfredo Boscan turned in a gem on Tuesday night, but the Syracuse Chiefs overcame his outing to defeat the Indianapolis Indians, 3-1. Boscan allowed just one run over six innings in the defeat.

Boscan (3-3) lowered his earned run average to 1.59 for the season. He did not allow a free pass, and limited the Chiefs to just four hits. Syracuse (19-12) would tack on a pair of runs in the final stanza of the game.

The Indianapolis (15-15) offense amassed 10 hits, but could not mount more than a pair of hits in an inning.

Austin Voth (2-1) allowed two hits in each of the first three innings, but he was able to escape jams and earn the win.

The lone run against Boscan came across the plate in the fifth. Caleb Ramsey knocked a single to center, and Brian Goodwin scored from second base. The throw home from Adam Frazier was close, but Goodwin was ruled safe for the game's first run.

Ramsey would strike again in the seventh when he doubled home Jason Martinson. His second run batted in of the night expanded the lead to 2-0.

The Indians cut the deficit to one in the top of the eighth. With two men aboard, Max Moroff blooped a single to center field to send home Josh Bell. The play cut the lead to 2-1, but the Chiefs would add a run for the game's final margin of 3-1.

Syracuse has won the first two games of the four-game set with the Tribe, and Indianapolis will look for their first win in game three of the current seven-game road trip on Wednesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
