DURHAM - The Durham Bulls and the Buffalo Bisons played seven innings knotted at 1-1 before Buffalo plated a run to hand the Bulls a 2-1 loss on Tuesday at the DBAP. Durham's (14-19) Blake Snell reached a milestone in his minor league career, getting strikeout No. 500.

Snell finished 5.1 innings with that one run allowed, one walk and seven strikeouts. He had two in the first inning to get him to the big milestone, as he entered the game at 498 strikeouts.

Adam Kolarek (0-1) took the loss, allowing the winning run in 1.1 innings on one hit, two walks and a strikeout. Pat Venditte (2-0) earned the win for Buffalo (15-17).

After Buffalo led off the game with a home run, Durham's Jaff Decker doubled to lead off the bottom half of the first. He moved to third on a groundout, then scored on another groundout to tie the game at 1-all in the first.

The score remained the same until the top of the ninth, when Buffalo's Junior Lake led off with a single, moved to second on a wild pitch, then scored on A.J. Jimenez's single to right field.

Decker finished 2 for 3 with a pair of walks, and Taylor Motter was 2 for 3 with a double and a two steals.

The Bulls play host to the Bisons again at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at the DBAP. Tickets can be purchased at DurhamBulls.com, or at the Frontier Communications Ticket Office at 919.956.BULL.
