Pigs Try to Even Series with Clippers

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will try to even their series against the Columbus Clippers on Tuesday night at Huntington Park. First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m.

RHP Mark Appel (3-1, 3.00) gets the ball for manager Dave Brundage's squad on Tuesday. The right-hander was tagged with the loss on Thursday vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre when he surrendered five runs on six hits while walking four and fanning six over his five innings of work. In his five starts this season, Appel has fanned 23 batters over 27.0 IP.

RHP Will Roberts (2-1, 2.25) will be on the bump for the Clippers. Roberts got a no-decision on Wednesday at Charlotte when he gave up two runs on four hits to go along with a walk and three strikeouts in 5.2 IP. The University of Virginia product has held righties to a .188 average (9-48) in 5 GS this year.

In his first start since September 28, 2014 on Monday, Pigs LHP James Russell allowed just two hits over four shutout innings. Russell has given up just one earned run in 6.2 IP this season with Lehigh Valley.
