Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release

YESTERDAY: The RailRiders blanked the Pawtucket Red Sox last night, 6-0. The team's fourth overall shutout win ran their record against the PawSox to 4-0.

SOL MAN: Leadoff man Donovan Solano doubled, walked, notched a sac fly and scored a run. Over his last 15 games he has gone 19-for-58 (.328). Solano took the leadoff duties from the since-promoted Ben Gamel who notched his first MLB hit in last night's win over Kansas City.

CHAIN: Chris Parmelee began the year in a 2-for-26 (.077) funk with no extra-base hits, one RBI and 10 strikeouts. He has since gone 21-for-59 with eight extra-base knocks, seven RBIs, eight walks and 13 runs scored over 16 games, slashing .356/.433/.559/.992. He finished Sunday 2-for-4 with a run scored.

DUAL THREAT: Gary Sanchez owns the IL lead in doubles and ranks second with 17 extra-base hits: 11-2B, 1-3B, 5HR. A .175 bat after his first 10 games, he has since gone 22-for-63 with 11 extra-base hits and 14 RBIs in 15 games played, slashing .349/.388/.619/1.007. He co-leads the team with 20 RBIs. He trails only Toledo's Steven Moya (23) for the IL lead. When he has been behind the plate, opposing base stealers have been caught eight times in 15 attempts for the IL's best caught-stealing percentage at .533. Sanchez has hit safely in seven straight games with multiple knocks in four of those affairs. During his hit streak he has gone 13-for-32 with six extra-base hits (three homers) while slashing .406/.424/.781/1.205.

I AM THE LAW: Aaron Judge cranked his team-best seventh homer, an impressive shot that soared over the left-center signage. He ranks among the IL's best in homers (T-2nd), RBIs (T-2nd, 20), extra-base hits (3rd, 14) and total bases (2nd, 60). He caught Nick Williams napping at second base for a fly-ball double play on Sunday. His five outfield assists pace the team and trail only Buffalo's Junior Lake (7) for the IL lead. He nailed the speedy Williams at home plate during a fly-ball double play on Saturday and retired Tommy Joseph at third base to end the fifth inning at Lehigh Valley on Friday night. Over his last nine games, Judge has gone homered five times with nine RBIs and six walks against seven strikeouts.

R&R: Rob Refsnyder smashed an RBI double in the opening inning. He has reached safely in 17 straight games and owns the IL's longest active hitting streak, a 13-gamer. Refsnyder's run has lifted his average by 83 points (.190-.273). He entered the last road trip in a 4-for-30 (.133) funk, but has gone 17-for-43 (.395) since. Charlotte's Leury Garcia and Toledo's Chad Huffman entered today sharing the IL's longest active on-base streak with Refsnyder at 17 games.

IT'S NOT EASY BEING GREEN: Starter Chad Green (2-3) recorded his second straight win and a season-high-tying nine strikeouts with six innings of four-hit ball. His efforts lowered his ERA to 1.22, trailing only Toledo's Thad Weber (1.17) for the IL lead. He has tossed six or more innings in four of his last five starts, allowing just three earned runs in that time.

HAIL CESAR: Cesar Puello walked and scored. His team-high six bruises in 15 games played make for the fifth-highest total in MiLB. However, 19 of the other 23 in the top 24 have played at least 24 games. Since coming off the DL on April 26, he has gone 10-for-28 (.357), lifting his average to .326.
