Peoria Chiefs News Release
Grand Chute, WI - The Peoria Chiefs Chris Siegfried got two quick outs in the bottom of the first before he unraveled. A four-pitch walk to Edilio Colina and a five-pitch pass to Ron Garth started the Rattlers rally. Gavin Dickey put the home team on the board with a RBI single to right. Joe Dunigan's seeing-eye single to left made it 2-0 as Garth scored from third. Denny Almonte clobbered a double off the wall to score a pair and give Wisconsin a 4-0 lead. Wisconsin kept the hits coming in the second as Blake Ochoa led off with a double and scored on a two-out single by Colina for a 5-0 lead. In the third against Siegfried, another extra-base hit boosted the Rattlers lead to 6-0. Almonte tripled with one out and easily scored on a sac fly by Alex Meneses.
After not getting a hit through the first four innings, the Chiefs finally got on the board in the fifth inning. Luis Bautista reached on an error by Diaz and moved to second when Donnie Hume walked Mario Mercedes. After a double play moved Bautista to third, Elvis Lara picked up the Chiefs first hit of the game with a RBI single to center. Siegfried lasted just three innings as he allowed six runs on nine hits. The lefty walked two and struck out two before leaving with a 6-0 deficit. Audy Santana threw two hitless innings and struck out two. Dustin Sasser tossed two shutout innings and allowed two singles with a strikeout.
