
Bees Sending Two Players to Midwest League All-Star Game

Burlington, IA (June 4, 2008) - The Burlington Bees are pleased to announce in conjunction with the Midwest League that outfielder Adrian Ortiz and pitcher Joe Augustine have been named 2008 Midwest League All-Stars. The two players have been placed on the Western Division roster and will take part in the Midwest League All-Star game to be played in Midland, Michigan on June 17th.
Ortiz was named one of the starting outfielders for the Western Division. He is currently hitting .300 with two homeruns and 16 RBI. He had a 16-game hitting streak that lasted from April 18 through May 6, which still stands as the second longest streak in the Midwest League this season. His .300 batting average is currently tenth best in the League.
Augustine will work out of the bullpen for the Western Division. He is currently 1-0 with a 2.15 ERA and four saves. His best stretch of the season came from April 24 to May 21, when he allowed only one earned run in six appearances.
The Midwest League All-Star game will be played at Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan on June 17th.
