DAYTON, OH - Kevin Feiner tied the game with a sacrifice fly in the seventh, then won the game with an RBI double in the bottom of the ninth as Dayton topped the Whitecaps, 4-3.

A six game losing streak for the Dragons came to an end and West Michigan's streak of seven consecutive victories at Fifth Third Field came to a close. The 'Caps were vying for a four game sweep of the Dragons.

The walk-off double followed a pair of brilliant defensive plays by the Whitecaps that accounted for the first two outs of the ninth inning. Shortstop Audy Ciriaco charged a ground ball by Denis Phipps to throw him out at first.

Pitcher Wilton Garcia knocked down a come-backer with his bare hand and threw from his back to first to retire Jason Bour.

However, Garcia walked the next batter, Anthony Gressick on four pitches to put the winning run on base and set up the game winning double by Feiner.

With Jon Kibler on the mound for West Michigan, Dayton scored single runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to take a 2-0 lead.

Jordan Newton hit a three-run home run off the scoreboard in left field to put the Whitecaps on top, 3-2 in the top of the seventh. It was Newton's first homer of the season.

Kibler made a throwing error in the bottom of the seventh, which allowed the tying runner to stay on base. Devin Mesoraco led off the inning with a single for Dayton and came home on Feiner's sac fly to even the game, 3-3.

Jeremy Horst earned the victory for Dayton by pitching a perfect top of the ninth inning with two strikeouts. Starting pitcher Matt Klinker tossed six shutout innings with just two hits allowed before Jeff Jeffords gave up all three Whitecaps runs in the seventh.

The start of the game was delayed one hour and two minutes by rain.
