Chiefs Announce 2016 Little League Appreciation Night
May 16, 2016 - International League (IL1)
Syracuse Mets News Release
The Syracuse Chiefs are happy to announce this year's Little League Appreciation Night presented by Hofmann Sausage Company. The night is scheduled for Saturday, June 4th when the Chiefs take on the Buffalo Bisons at 7:05 p.m. Little League teams can register to have their players and coaches represented on the field and in the stands during the night.
"This is one of our favorite nights of the year in Syracuse", said Chiefs general manager Jason Smorol. "We're all about growing the game of baseball in Central New York here at the Syracuse Chiefs. There's nothing better than seeing hundreds of kids and parents lined up on the field from foul line to foul line!"
Little League coaches are encouraged to register their teams by emailing Josh Sexton at jsexton@syracusechiefs.com. This allows teams to have their full roster of players and coaches participate on the pregame on-field banner parade around NBT Bank Stadium's warning track, beginning at 6 p.m. Any other Little Leaguers wearing their team's jersey or uniform will receive free admission to the game, courtesy of Hofmann Sausage Co. Additionally, the first 1,000 kids to enter the gates will receive a free youth replica Chiefs jersey, also courtesy of Hofmann.
Parents can receive discounted $6 box reserved tickets for the game by either calling 315-474-7833, mailing an order form to 1 Tex Simone Drive, Syracuse NY, 13208, or visiting SyracuseChiefs.com and using the promo code "Littleleague2016".
Prior to Little League Appreciation Night, NBT Bank Stadium will be hosting the 2016 Pitch, Hit and Run Sectional Championship from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Over 200 participants will be competing for a chance to win and move on to the Team Championships, which will be hosted at Yankee Stadium. The winner of the Team Championship then moves on to the National Finals competition, which takes place over All-Star Weekend in San Diego. The event is open to the public.
For more information on Little League Appreciation Night or the 2016 Pitch, Hit and Run competition, contact the Chiefs at 315-474-7833 or email Arnold Malloy at amalloy@syracusechiefs.com.
