May 16, 2016 - International League (IL1)
Syracuse Mets News Release
The Syracuse Chiefs are pleased to announce the second Bark in the Park night, to take place on Wednesday, August 24, when the Chiefs take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders at 6:35 p.m. To celebrate the event, the Chiefs will hold a Dog Jersey auction at NBT Bank Stadium. The jerseys will feature pictures of fans' dogs and will be worn by the Chiefs.
"Man's best friend deserves a special day at historic NBT Bank Stadium", said general manager Jason Smorol. "The Dog Jersey Auction is a great way to create a lasting memory with your dog. It's set to be another great day in Chiefsville, filled with fun, family, and of course, dogs!"
For $5, fans can submit a picture of their dog to be featured on a commemorative Syracuse Chiefs jersey. Fans can download the flyer by selecting "Bark in the Park Jersey" under the "Community" tab at syracusechiefs.com. Flyers will also be available at every Chiefs home game until the jersey is sold out. In addition, a flyer is attached to this release.
The first 100 pictures submitted will be featured on every jersey. The Chiefs will wear the jerseys on the field during that night's game against the RailRiders. A jersey auction will then take place on the concourse level of NBT Bank Stadium, concluding at the end of the seventh inning. All 35 of the commemorative jerseys will be auctioned off to fans in attendance. Winners of the auction will receive their jersey from a player following the game. You must be present at the game to participate in the auction.
All proceeds from the night's dog tickets will go to local dog rescue organizations. Proceeds from the jersey auction will be given to local rescue organizations as well. In addition, fans can bring their dogs on the field pregame for the second "Chiefsminister Dog Show and Parade".
Tickets for Bark in the Park #2, as well as all other Chiefs games, can be purchased online at syracusechiefs.com, by calling 474-7833 or in person at the NBT Bank Stadium ticket office.
