INDIANAPOLIS - Chad Kuhl extended his active scoreless streak to 17 innings behind a dominant start as the Indianapolis Indians blanked Columbus, 2-0 on Monday at Victory Field.

Kuhl (3-0) did not surrender his first hit until the fifth inning. That one hit would be all he would allow, striking out six while walking only one. He faced just three over the minimum and did it all on an efficient 88 pitches.

Indianapolis' (18-18) rolled out Jorge Rondon in the eighth and Rob Scahill for the save in the ninth, his second for the Indians this season.

Columbus (23-14) handed the ball to Jarrett Grube to start, but it was Felipe Paulino (1-1) that received the loss for allowing two runs in the sixth.

Adam Frazier doubled to lead off that inning, extending his hitting streak to eight games. A walk and an error loaded the bases for Jason Rogers, who singled to right to hand the Tribe a 1-0 lead. A second run scored on a double play to bring the tally to 2-0.

The two teams will resume action tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. back at Victory Field.
