Chiefs Acquire Defenseman Card

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Colorado Avalanche and Columbus Blue Jackets, and the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters and Syracuse Crunch, announced today that they have traded for defenseman Ryan Card from the Ontario Reign in exchange for future considerations.

The 24-year-old Bancroft, Ontario native appeared in four games for the Reign. His stint with Ontario followed three seasons at St. Thomas University (CIS), where he recorded seven goals and 20 points in 74 games. Card also played five seasons in the OHL, three with the Peterborough Petes and two with the Guelph Storm. The 6-foot-1, 180 pound blueliner appeared in over 300 games in the OHL, tallying 24 goals and 92 points.

Mark your calendars, the Chiefs are back on home ice on Saturday, January 28. Johnstown is hosting a team poster giveaway for the first 1,500 fans in attendance at the UPMC Health Plan Ice Rink.
