LONG BEACH, Calif. - Long Beach Ice Dogs Head Coach and General Manager Rick Adduono announced today the hiring of veteran equipment manager Jim Chesnut as the team's new Head Equipment Manager, succeeding Bobby Walls who has taken a position with the Los Angeles Kings.

Chesnut comes to Long Beach with over nine years of experience in professional hockey having served as the Head Equipment Manager for the Topeka Scarecrows (1998-2001) in the CHL, the New Orleans Brass (2001-2002) in the ECHL, the Quad City Mallards (2002-2003) in the UHL, the Kalamazoo Wings (2003-2004) in the UHL, and most recently the Lowell Lock Monsters (2004-2006) in the American Hockey League.

Jim is a member of the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers. Prior to last season in Lowell, Chesnut provided equipment services for the Carolina Hurricanes Rookie Camp in Ottawa.

"The Ice Dogs are very fortunate to have obtained an equipment manager with the credentials and experience that Chesnut has," said Adduono. "What Jim will bring to the table is tough to put into words on the professionalism, know-how, and contacts that he brings to an organization. Chesnut will provide immaculate working conditions on a daily basis for our players and staff. The Ice Dogs are very fortunate to have him in Long Beach."

"I am very excited to come to the Ice Dogs," said Chesnut. "I am an old school type of guy. The Ice Dogs have a great tradition and rich history going all the way back to the IHL. I am looking forward to jumping in and get the season started."

Opening night is Friday, October 20th, versus the Idaho Steelheads at 7:30 PM. Season tickets for the 2006-07 season are on sale now, and can be secured by depositing just $100 per seat. Call (562) ICE-DOGS for visit www.icedogs.com for more information.
