RoadRunners Training Camp Opens Friday

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners, a proud affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and the San Antonio Rampage, will commence their second season as a member of the ECHL when they open training camp at 7:30AM Friday with introductory team meetings, pictures and physicals at US Airways Center.

In preparation for the 2006-07 season and the season opener on Friday, Oct. 20 at home against Utah, the RoadRunners and Las Vegas Wranglers will face-off in a home-and-home pre-season series. The RoadRunners will travel to Las Vegas at 7:05PM Thursday, Oct. 12 to battle the Wranglers at the Orleans Arena. The two teams will then return to Phoenix the following evening for a re-match at 7:15PM at the Alltel Ice Den in North Scottsdale, the official practice facility of the Phoenix RoadRunners. General admission tickets are available for $5 each and can be purchased by calling (602) 462-GOAL or by visiting the Alltel Ice Den Box Office. RoadRunners' season ticket holders will be admitted to the game free of charge.

The RoadRunners will kick off their on-ice workouts with a special practice session Saturday at US Airways Center as the club hosts its second annual Ice Breaker Party from 12PM-4PM inside the Casino Arizona Pavilion. In addition to catching the opening day of training camp as practice will run from 1PM-2:30PM, fans will have the opportunity to select their seats for the 2006-07 regular season right on the spot and meet RoadRunners players, coaches, and staff.

The RoadRunners training camp schedule through Oct. 19 is listed below. Practices will be held at both the Polar Ice Center in Chandler (7225 W Harrison Street, Chandler) and the Alltel Ice Den in Scottsdale (9375 E Bell Road, Scottsdale). All practices during training camp are open to the public and the media.

Individual game tickets for the 2006-07 regular season are currently on sale and can be purchased at the US Airways Center Box Office and at all Ticketmaster outlets including Ticketmaster.com.

Opening Night 2006 at US Airways Center will be on Friday, October 20 when the RoadRunners welcome the Utah Grizzlies at 7:11PM for the first game of an opening weekend three-game series. Information on season tickets, half-season packages, and flex plans are available by calling (602) 462-GOAL.
