
Checkers release training camp schedule

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers released their training camp schedule today which begins at 10:00 am Saturday, Oct. 7 at Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail, N.C.
The Checkers will practice from 10:00 am - noon each day starting Saturday, Oct. 7 through Wednesday, Oct. 11 at Extreme Ice Center. All practices at Extreme Ice Center are open to the public. The Checkers will skate from 10:00 - 11:00 am on Thursday, Oct. 12 and travel to Columbia for a preseason matchup with the Inferno at 7:00 pm.
The Checkers will host two preseason events at Extreme Ice Center. The first event will be the inaugural Blue/White game on Friday, Oct. 13 from 4:00 - 5:30 pm. This scrimmage is free and open to the public.
On Saturday, Oct. 14, the Checkers will host a Fan Fest along with a preseason game against the South Carolina Stingrays. The Fan Fest will run from noon - 5:00 pm and puck drop for the game is at 1:30 pm. Admission to the Fan Fest is free and the preseason game is just $5.
The Checkers will resume training camp at 10:00 am - noon on Monday, Oct. 16 through Wednesday, Oct. 18 at Extreme Ice Center. The Checkers will hold a closed practice on Thursday, Oct 19 at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
All practice times, dates and locations are subject to change.
The 2006-2007 gets underway at 7:30 pm on Friday, Oct. 20 as the Checkers host the Wheeling Nailers at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. The two teams will square off again the following night at 7:30 pm at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.

The Charlotte Checkers open their 14th season in the ECHL Friday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 pm against the Wheeling Nailers at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
