During the late stages of the second period while the Checkers sported a two-man advantage, Dusty Jamieson buried a shot from between the circles at 18:18. This gave Charlotte a 2-0 lead heading into the final 20 minutes.
The Lynx would add a goal late as Bobby Bolt lifted a rebound over Checkers goalie, Mike Ayers at 18:45 but, it wouldn't be enough to close the gap and Charlotte skated away with a 2-1 win.
