Former Stingray Takes the Ice at the AHL All-Star Classic

North Charleston, SC - Former ECHL Rookie of the Year and South Carolina Stingrays forward Joey Tenute is one of 13 former ECHL players selected for this year's AHL All-Star Game, which will be played January 28th at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, NY.

Comcast / Charter Sports Southeast announced the delayed broadcast of the 2008 AHL All-Star Classic will be aired on January 29th at 8 p.m.

Tenute, who compiled 75 points (34g, 41a) during the 2004-05 season to lead South Carolina, will represent the San Antonio Rampage in the All-Star Classic. The Hamilton, Ontario native replaces teammate Joel Perrault, who is on recall to the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes.

Tenute, 24, is in his third AHL season and first in San Antonio, where he currently leads the Rampage with 17 goals and ranks second on the team with 30 points in 43 games. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound center spent the last two seasons with the Hershey Bears, winning a Calder Cup championship in 2006 and returning to the Finals in 2007.

The Stingrays take the ice tonight in Estero, FL to take on the Everblades at 7:30 p.m. Listen to the game live with Josh Heller, Voice of the Rays, beginning at 7:15 p.m. on ESPN Radio 910 the Team.

The Team returns to home ice on Thursday, Jan. 31st against the Augusta Lynx. Come out and watch as the Rays look to extend their home winning streak to 11 games.
