Capitols Face off against U-17's
December 2, 2022 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Madison Capitols News Release
The Capitols are on the road once again this weekend wrapping up a five-game road trip. The team wraps the trip up with a trip to Plymouth, Michigan, to face off against the National Development Program's U-17's.
This will be the first matchup with the National Development Program this season for Madison. Last season, the Capitols were 5-3-0-0 against USA, which included a 3-1-0-0 record at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth.
Madison comes into the weekend with a record of 5-11-0-1 following a tough start to the road trip in Green Bay and Muskegon last week. The opponents for the weekend between the U-17's and U-18's have a record of 10-4-0-1 this season, with the U-17's carrying a 5-4-0-0 in their USHL part of the schedule.
The Capitols look to be closer to full health heading into the weekend after missing six players on Saturday night in Muskegon. Combined, the Capitols were missing 58 combined points on Saturday including leading scorers Miko Matikka(Suspension) and Quinn Finley(Illness).
Last weekend when the team wasn't at full health, it was a pair of newer Caps with forward Andrew Kuzma and defenseman Brady Yakesh both shining on the offensive end of the ice. Kuzma has recorded points in each of his last six games played, which includes three multi-point games. Yakesh had a three point week last weekend, all assists.
Puck drop is scheduled for 6:05 pm CT on both Friday and Saturday night in Plymouth. These games will be streamed HERE.
