
Capitals Re-Assign Carrick and Latta to Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have re-assigned defenseman Connor Carrick and center Michael Latta to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Carrick, 19, made his NHL debut against the Chicago Blackhawks on Oct. 1 at United Center. Carrick scored one goal and earned six penalty minutes in three games with the Capitals this season. Carrick became the seventh youngest Capitals player and third youngest Capitals defenseman to score in the NHL at 19 years old and 173 days. The 5'10", 197-pound defenseman recorded 44 points (12 goals, 32 assists) in 68 games for the Plymouth Whalers (OHL) last season.
Latta, 22, also made his NHL debut against Blackhawks on Oct. 1. Latta played in two games for the Capitals and one game for Hershey this season. In his season debut with Hershey, Latta collected two points (one goal, one assist). The 6'0", 212-pound center split last season between Milwaukee (AHL) and Hershey, registering 38 points (10 goals, 28 assists) and 198 penalty minutes in 76 games. The Kitchener, Ontario, native has registered 68 points (25 goals, 43 assists) and 300 penalty minutes in 132 career AHL regular-season games.
