Springfield Falcons News Release
Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons released its promotional schedule Friday afternoon, which includes a number of specialty jersey nights, guest appearances, exciting giveaways and a date devoted to honoring the team's 20th anniversary season. Additional promotions will be added as the season progresses.
The Falcons will wear specialty jersey on three separate occasions: Hometown Heroes Night, 20th Anniversary Night and Pink in the Rink.
Hometown Heroes Night presented by the University of New Haven - held Friday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. versus the Adirondack Phantoms - will feature a number of team recognitions. The Falcons appreciate the efforts of people in the community and are proud to honor members of law enforcement, the fire department, or anyone else in the greater-Springfield area that has made a difference in the community.
The team's 20th Anniversary Night will give fans a flashback to the Falcons' first season, which began in 1994. Springfield will wear special jerseys with the 20th anniversary logo and honor not only the 1994-95 season, but the last 19 years of Falcons hockey.
The third specialty jersey night is the annual Pink in the Rink, raising money and awareness for breast cancer research.
When the Falcons host the Providence Bruins Saturday, January 4, the team will welcome a special guest to take part in the pre-game activities: TD Garden legend Rene Rancourt will be in attendance to sing the national anthem. Rancourt has been singing the national anthem at Boston Bruins home games regularly since 1976.
Some of the exciting giveaway items handed out to fans throughout the season include team magnet schedules (October 12 versus Worcester), team posters and team autograph session (November 10 versus Wilkes-Barre/Scranton), t-shirts courtesy of Country Hyundai, Country Nissan and Northampton Volkswagen (November 23 versus Hartford), thundersticks (December 7 versus Hartford courtesy of AAA and January 18 versus Providence courtesy of MGM Springfield) and rally towels courtesy of Health New England (February 15 versus Bridgeport).
The promotional schedule also features a number of dates with charitable promotions. In addition to Pink in the Rink to benefit The Mary Kay Foundation, the team is also running a toy drive Saturday, December 7 to benefit Toys for Tots. Every fan who donates an unopened and unused toy will receive a free ticket voucher to a Falcons home game. Additionally, on Saturday, November 2, the Falcons will run a canned soup drive to benefit Friends of the Homeless - the largest emergency shelter for adult individuals in Western Massachusetts.
The last home game of the season will be a Salute to the Fans, thanking the loyal Falcons fans for their support throughout the year.
Fans are invited to the MassMutual Center in 2013-14 to watch the reigning Northeast Division-champion Falcons compete in their 20th anniversary season. Adult season-ticket packages start as low as $13 per game. To purchase tickets or to get more information, call (413) 739-GOAL (4625) or visit the team office inside the MassMutual Center from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Support the Falcons throughout the 2013-14 season by wearing red, white and blue at all the home games.
