IceCaps Assign Cullity and Bell to ECHL Teams

The St. John's IceCaps today announced they have assigned defencemen Patrick Cullity to the Idaho Steelheads and Zach Bell to the Ontario Reign of the ECHL.

Cullity, 26, played in 14 games last season with the IceCaps where he had two assists and 12 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 39 games with the Steelheads where he recorded 14 points (3G, 11A) and 30 penalty minutes and seven games with the AHL's Spingfield Falcons where he was scoreless.

Cullity was undrafted and turned pro in 2010 after four seasons with the University of Vermont.

Bell, signed by the IceCaps earlier this week, played in 67 games with the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League last season. In that time, the right-handed defensemen recorded 27 points (9G, 18A) and 50 penalty minutes. The 20-year-old also appeared in five post-season games with the club and accumulated four penalty minutes.

The St. John's, NL native has played 234 games with Brampton over four seasons for 65 career OHL points (17G, 48A) and 253 OHL career penalty minutes.
