Canadiens Assign Yannick Weber To Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that defenceman Yannick Weber has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs. Weber is scheduled to be available for tonight's game against the Marlies.

Weber, 21, has played in 44 games with the Bulldogs this season posting 23 points (two goals, 21 assists) and 40 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-11, 193-pound defenceman played in five games with the Canadiens this year but was held pointless. The native of Zurich, Switzerland was one of 23 players selected to Switzerland's hockey team for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Weber was drafted by Montreal in the 3rd round, 73rd overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

The Bulldogs meet their archrival Toronto Marlies for a game tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum.
