Toronto, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Toronto Marlies 2-1 on Saturday night at Ricoh Coliseum. The âDogs only allowed 12 shots in the game, which sets a new franchise record for fewest shots allowed in a game. The previous record of 13 was set eight years ago to the day against the Hershey Bears.
The Marlies opened the scoring at 1:45 of the first period with a power-play marker. Brendan Mikkelson received the puck from Jonas Frogren before blasting a shot on net. Andre Deveaux redirected the shot past Hamilton starting goaltender Curtis Sanford.
The Bulldogs tied the game at 2:16 of the second stanza while on the power play. Ryan Russell collected the puck in the right corner before sending a pass to P.K. Subban. Subban sent a behind-the-back pass to Mike Glumac, who fired a shot past Toronto starting goaltender Joey MacDonald. Glumac added his second goal of the game at 4:31. Subban sent a pass to Glumac, to send the forward on a breakaway. Glumac snapped a shot over the right shoulder of MacDonald and into the top of the net.
