
Cameron Clutches Win against Clippers

TOLEDO - The Toledo Mud Hens defeated the Columbus Clippers 9-8 in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon.
Daz Cameron fueled the offensive fire for the Mud Hens, going 5-6 on the afternoon, tallying five singles and one RBI, that being from his walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning. Kerry Carpenter had a three-hit night as well, also notching an RBI. Ali Sanchez tallied another multi-hit game, picking up two hits and two RBI in the game. Josh Lester extended his hitting streak to nine-games, tallying a single and two RBI. Brendon Davis tallied a two-run double that broke open the floodgates for the Mud Hens, going 1-4 on the day. Spencer Torkelson picked up a single and an RBI. Jamie Westbrook also tallied a hit to round out the offense.
Elvin Rodriguez got the start on Sunday afternoon for the Mud Hens. Rodriguez pitched 4.1 innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on 10 hits, including two home runs, one walk and three strikeouts. Luis Castillo continued his hot stretch, pitching 0.2 inning, allowing no runs or hits and notching a strikeout. Miguel Diaz tallied his eighth hold, pitching 1.0 inning, allowing one hit and one strikeout. Drew Carlton picked up his third hold, pitching 1.0 inning, giving up one hit. Miguel Del Pozo grabbed his 12th hold, allowing one hit and two strikeouts over his 1.0 inning of relief. Derek Law surrendered his fourth blown save, giving up the game-tying two-run home run in the 9th inning. Law finished with 1.0 inning pitched, allowing two runs on two hits and one strikeout. Shea Spitzbarth picked up the win, he is now 2-0 on the season. Spitzbarth pitched 1.0 inning, allowing a walk.
What's Next: The Toledo Mud Hens will remain home to open a six-game series with the Indianapolis Indians on Tuesday, July 26th. First pitch for that game will be 7:05 pm.
