
Knights Fall to the 'Shrimp 8-3 on Sunday Night

(JACKSONVILLE, FL) - The Charlotte Knights dropped the finale of the three-game series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp by a score of 8-3 on Sunday night from 121 Financial Ballpark in Jacksonville, FL.
Charlotte second baseman Yolbert Sánchez hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Knights on the scoreboard for the first time in the game. The home run was his second of the season with the Knights. His two RBIs on the night led the way for Charlotte.
Two innings later, left fielder Adam Haseley launched his 11th homer of the season. His solo homer in the top of the ninth was Charlotte's third and final run of the game. In all, the Knights connected on two home runs and six total hits in the finale. Right fielder Blake Rutherford had two hits in the game.
The Jumbo Shrimp scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning against RHP Mike Wright (0-1, 4.66), who started for the Knights and was charged with the loss. Wright allowed three runs on five hits over just 2.1 innings pitched. Jacksonville center fielder Peyton Burdick hit a two-run home run in the third inning. The Jumbo Shrimp later added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning against Charlotte RHP Rafael Dolis.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Jumbo Shrimp broke the game open thanks to a two-run home run from Lorenzo Quintana. He finished the game 2-for-4 with the home run and four RBIs.
Jumbo Shrimp RHP Nick Neidert (3-0, 2.25) earned the win after throwing seven strong innings. He allowed just two runs on five hits.
The Knights won one of three games in the series and will now have an off day on Monday before opening a six-game road series against the Nashville Sounds from Nashville, TN on Tuesday night.
