Bulls Drop Home Regular Season Finale to Idaho

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls (24-38-2-7) were defeated by the Idaho Steelheads (45-19-1-6), 5-0, in front of 6,034 fans on Fan Appreciation night, Friday at the Cow Palace. Chris Rawlings pitched a shutout for the Steelheads.

Idaho scored with 9:17 remaining in the first period to take the early lead. Ben Ondrus scored on a tip play in front of Taylor Nelson. Galiardi was able to find Ondrus alone in front of the goal for the deflection. Austin Smith also assisted on the play.

The Steelheads doubled their advantage to 2-0 with 4:48 remaining in the second period. After an initial shot by Idaho hit the crossbar, Adrian Foster banged home the rebound for his 10th goal of the season. Again it was Galiardi and Smith assisting on the goal.

Idaho extended their lead to 3-0 on a set play right after a face-off. Austin Fyten won the puck back to Rob Linsmayer, who rifled the puck past Nelson for his first goal of the season. James Isaacs also assisted on the goal scored at 2:59 of the third period. The Steelheads then scored on the power play to bring the score to 4-0. Isaacs scored his second goal of the season from Matt Case and Foster at 4:42. At this point, Travis Fullerton was brought in to replace Nelson in goal for San Francisco. Foster scored at 6:04 to give Idaho a 5-0 lead. Fullerton was unable to find the puck in the crease, leading to a backhand goal for Fullerton. Smith picked up the only assist.
