Bullies' Moreland Is Ironman

Atlantic City's Jake Moreland has started 14 consecutive games, going 10-3-1 with a goals-against average of 2.20 and a save percentage of .930. In his last 12 starts, Moreland is 10-1-1 with a goals-against average of 1.90 and a save percentage of .939. Moreland is 11-3-1 and leads the league in wins, minutes (938) and saves (458) and is tied for the league lead in games (16) while ranking seventh in goals-against average (2.05).

League Passes Million Mark

The ECHL has surpassed one million in attendance for the 14th consecutive season. The league has welcomed 1,008,674 fans in 253 games, the fastest the league has reached one million since 2000-01 when it achieved the milestone in 245 games, and is averaging 3,987 per game which is up seven percent from last season. Victoria had a standing-room-only crowd of 2,750 for its home opener against Bakersfield on Sunday, the 15th sellout crowd of the season for the league.

Wolves' Lisabeth Registers Team Record Five Assists

Mississippi right wing Travis Lisabeth set a team record with five assists and tied the team record for most points with six in a 9-2 win against Texas on Saturday. Lisabeth broke the record of four assists, held by several players and most recently by Steffon Walby, who had four assists at Pee Dee on November 14, 2003, and he tied the record of Forbes MacPherson, who had six points against Mobile on December 28, 1997. The five assists and six points are both single-season highs for the league. Lisabeth is second on the team with 11 assists and is tied for third in scoring with 16 points in 18 games.

Falcons Win Five Straight Home Games

Reading saw its team record winning streak end at nine games with a 5-3 loss against Trenton on Friday. The Royals, however, bounced back with a 2-1 win at Trenton on Saturday, extending their road winning streak to six games which is the longest in the league this season. Reading is home for its next three games before traveling to Toledo on December 18-19 to open an eight-game road trip.

After dropping its season opener at Mississippi on October 22, Louisiana has won five consecutive road games. The IceGators will play their next four games on the road, visiting Augusta on Tuesday, Charlotte on Wednesday, Columbia on Friday and Pee Dee on Saturday.

Fresno has won its last five games, improving to 6-5-1 at home, which is the longest streak in the league this season. The Falcons will host Greenville on Tuesday and Sunday and Bakersfield on Friday while visiting Long Beach on Saturday.

Bakersfield Off To Best Start In Team History

Winning 3-2 in a shootout at Long Beach on Friday and 4-3 in overtime at Victoria on Sunday, Bakersfield extended its winning streak to three games and improve to 13-1-2, the best start in team history. The Condors remain atop the ECHL with a winning percentage of .875 and have moved into a tie with Atlantic City, which has gone 10-1-1 in its last 12 games, for most points (28) and wins (13).

Bakersfield is in first place in the West Division of the National Conference, five points ahead of Idaho (11-7-1) and Alaska (11-8-1) Going 1-1-0 last week, Atlantic City is 13-5-2 and in first place in the North Division of the National Conference, five points ahead of Trenton (10-3-3) and six points ahead of Wheeling (11-8-0).

In its inaugural ECHL season in 2003-04, Bakersfield did not reach 28 points until January 16 and did not win its 13th game until January 27, finishing with 59 points and a 25-38-9 record. Bakersfield will remain in Victoria for games on Tuesday and Wednesday and visits Fresno on Friday before returning home to host Greenville on Saturday. Bakersfield has won its last two road games to improve to 4-1-1 on the road, and it has won four consecutive home games for a 9-0-1 record at Bakersfield Centennial Garden. The Condors opened the season winning a team record six consecutive games. Following a 4-3 shootout loss to Toledo on November 12, Bakersfield won three games in a row and was 9-0-1 after its first 10 games.

Yutaka Fukufuji has started the last six games and appeared in nine of Bakersfield's last 10 games, going 6-1-2, including two overtime wins and two shootout wins, with a goals-against average of 2.51 and a save percentage of .918. Kevin St. Jacques leads the Condors over the last 10 games with two game-winning goals, eight assists and 11 points. St. Jacques leads the team with 13 assists and his 16 points ties him for the team scoring lead with Lars-Peder Nagel (5g-11a), who has nine points (2g-7a) in the last 10 games. Brad Mehalko has a team-high six goals in the last 10 games and leads Bakersfield with eight goals.

Gwinnett, Florida Streak To Top Of South Division

Winning a team record six consecutive games and earning a point in eight of its last 10 games, Gwinnett is in first place in the South Division of the American Conference with 26 points and a record of 11-3-4. The Gladiators are four points ahead of Florida, which has won five games in a row to improve to 11-9-0. Louisiana and Pensacola are both six points behind Gwinnett with identical 9-4-2 records.

Gwinnett will host Florida on Tuesday and Charlotte on Friday before traveling to Columbia on Saturday. The Everblades won the only meeting between the two division leaders, 4-3 in a shootout at Florida on October 26. After concluding its four-game road trip on Tuesday, Florida returns home to host South Carolina on Friday and Saturday. Louisiana will continue its four-game road trip, visiting Augusta on Tuesday, Charlotte on Wednesday, Columbia on Friday and Pee Dee on Saturday. Pensacola will play a home-and-home with Texas, hosting the Wildcatters on Friday and visiting Beaumont on Saturday.

Gwinnett, which is 9-0-0 when leading after the second period, has exploded offensively during its winning streak, outscoring its opponents 34-15 while raising its scoring average from 3.33 to 4.11 goals per game. Kris Goodjohn, who leads the Gladiators during the streak with nine assists and 11 points, has an eight-game scoring streak (2g-11a) which ties him for the longest active scoring streak. Brett Engelhardt, who has a three-game goal-scoring streak (3g), leads the team in goals during the streak with seven, including his first professional hat trick against South Carolina on November 25, giving him 13 goals, tops among ECHL rookies and tied for the overall league lead. Between the pipes for Gwinnett, T.J. Aceti has gone 5-0-0, including an overtime win and a shootout win, improving to 9-3-1 to rank fourth among league leaders in wins.

Florida, which has won three consecutive road games to even its road record at 5-5-0, has outscored its opponent 18-8 during its current streak to raise its scoring average to 3.10 goals per game. Returning to the ice for the first time since November 13, Brent McDonald had led Florida on the current road trip, scoring five goals, including a hat trick on Saturday at Pee Dee, and six points in three games. Matt Hendricks (3g-3a) and Brad Church (2g-4a) each have four-game scoring streaks while Steve Saviano has six points (1g-5a) in his last four games.
