February 1, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, are pleased to announce that their live auction this past Sunday of the special commemorative game-worn jerseys dedicated to the "Face-Off Against Kids Cancer" program raised a total of $11,950.
"I am overcome with gratitude towards our many fans who have come together to support these children and their families, and the battles they endure every day," said Bullies Vice President and General Manager Dan Belisle. "Because of their generosity, we were able to nearly double the total money raised from the first season of this program."
Proceeds from the auction will benefit Caps For Kids, a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing hats signed by athletes and entertainers to kids who lose their hair due to chemotherapy treatments of cancer, Alfred I. duPont Hospital For Children in Wilmington, Delaware, and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
To officially culminate the second year of the "Face-Off Against Kids Cancer," the Bullies, in conjunction with Resorts Hotel & Casino, Atlantic City and Benchmark Mortgage, will host a farewell brunch to be served by the players from 10AM-1PM on Sunday, February 13 at Resorts. The brunch is open to the general public. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance by calling the Bullies offices at (609) 348-7825. The money raised through ticket sales will also go to the above-mentioned charities.
The Bullies host the Peoria Rivermen at 7:05PM on Wednesday at Historic Boardwalk Hall. Every Wednesday home game is a "Wild Wednesday" presented by Coors Light. All college students, casino workers, military, and service industry personnel get in the gates for just $6. Enjoy great Coors Light all night for just $2. For more information or to order tickets, call (609) 348-7825.
