Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, NJ (February 1, 2005) - Rocky Hoffman, a Children's Specialized Hospital patient in the Toms River facility, will "drop the puck" at the Trenton Titans game on February 9 at 7PM. This 18-year old US Army Soldier, who was in a near fatal car accident this past summer, has turned what was once a sad day into nothing short of a miracle. In a mere five-month period, Rocky has overcome the many obstacles he faced including walking, eating, and speaking. With the help of speech, physical, recreational, and occupational therapy at Children's Specialized Hospital a once grave diagnosis has turned into an amazing recovery due to the hard work and determination of a true fighter.

Following the hockey game, in celebration of Valentine's Day, the players on the Trenton Titans will be visiting the kids at the Children's Specialized Hospital Hamilton facility on February 10 at 3PM. Children's Specialized Hospital, New Jersey's largest comprehensive rehabilitation hospital dedicated exclusively to children, is an affiliate member of the Robert Wood Johnson Health System. Children's Specialized Hospital treats children and adolescents from birth through 21. Services include outpatient services, acute rehabilitation, and long-term care through its sites in Mountainside, Fanwood, Toms River, Newark, Hamilton, and Roselle Park as well as outreach programs in many communities.
