Everblades' Berg Named In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Florida center Reggie Berg is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for January 24-30.

The 28-year-old Berg scored seven points (1g-6a) while helping Florida post back-to-back wins over Louisiana and extend its winning streak to three games. After picking up two assists in a 5-3 win on January 28, the 5-10 and 190-pound Berg scored the game winning goal and added four assists in a 6-5 win on January 29. It was the eighth multiple-point game in just 11 games for Berg. The native of Anoka, Minn. is tied for fifth on the team with 23 points (8g-15a) despite missing 30 games after suffering a knee injury the second week of the season.

Selected in the seventh round (178th overall) by Toronto in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, Berg is in his fifth season with the Everblades and he has scored 196 points (92g-104a) in 165 games. He was second overall in the 2004 Kelly Cup Playoffs with 19 points (5g-14a) while helping Florida advance to the Kelly Cup Finals.

On behalf of Reggie Berg, a case of pucks will be donated to a Florida area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. In Glas Co has donated over 10,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the award in 2000-01.
