Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies News Release
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. - The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, will host the second event in their Second Annual "Face-Off Against Kids Cancer" with the "Sunday Sundae Social" from 1PM-3PM tomorrow at the Egg Harbor City Volunteer Ambulance Facility.
The Egg Harbor City Volunteer Ambulance Facility is located at 700 Philadelphia Avenue in Egg Harbor City.
On December 11, Bullies players got the opportunity to visit with 15 children from the greater Delaware Valley region that suffer from early stages of pediatric cancer in a special locker room meet-and-greet following their game against Johnstown. The "Face-Off Against Kids Cancer" will continue on Sunday, January 16 from 10AM-1PM at the Jersey Shore Children's Museum located behind Boscov's at the Shore Mall in Egg Harbor Township.
"Face-Off Against Kids Cancer" will culminate on Friday, January 28 and Sunday, January 30 when the Bullies take the ice wearing special commemorative jerseys dedicated to each child. The jerseys will then be auctioned off with the proceeds benefiting Caps For Kids, a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing hats signed by athletes and entertainers to kids who lose their hair due to chemotherapy treatments of cancer, Alfred I. duPont Hospital For Children in Wilmington, Delaware, and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Originated by the Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL during the 2002-03 season, the Bullies first "Face-Off Against Kids Cancer" last year raised more than $6,000.
The Bullies conclude their weeklong road trip at 7PM tonight against the Trenton Titans from Sovereign Bank Arena. Catch all the action live beginning with "Bullies Countdown" at 7:10PM on ESPN Radio 1450AM and the SurferNetwork at www.boardwalkbullies.com.
Atlantic City returns to Historic Boardwalk Hall at 7:05PM on Wednesday, December 12 when they host the West Division Bakersfield Condors. Every Wednesday home game is a "Wild Wednesday."
