
Deschenes, Houle Head to Philly; Hayward Returns

TRENTON, NJ (January 8, 2005) âThe Trenton Titans today announced that left wing Nick Deschenes and goaltender Chris Houle have been recalled by the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League.
Deschenes, in his second professional season, has tallied 9 points (3g, 6a) and 16 penalty minutes in 20 games for the Titans. A graduate of Yale University, Deschenes split last season between the Titans and the Phantoms
In 17 games for Trenton this year, Houle has registered a 9-4-3 record with a 2.55 goals against average and .915 save percentage. The 23-year old, second-year pro was the Titans' lone representative to the 2004 ECHL All-Star Game and also split season between Trenton and Philadelphia (AHL).
Houle becomes the ninth Titan to receive an AHL call-up this season.
Center Leon Hayward returns to the Trenton Titans after signing a professional tryout contract with the Providence Bruins (AHL) on November 20. Before his departure, the 25-year old had recorded 3 goals, an assist and 30 PIM in 7 games for Trenton. Hayward notched 3 points (1g, 2a) and 27 PIM in 21 games for the Bruins.
In a separate transaction goaltender Andrew Allen was activated off the 7-day injured reserve list. The 28-year old netminder was 9-3-1 with a 2.36 GAA and .919 save percentage before heading to the IR on December 29.
