
Bulldogs Set To Battle Two Division Rivals This Week

The Hamilton Bulldogs (American Hockey League affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) will face-off against two North Division rivals this week, beginning with a tilt against the Syracuse Crunch (AHL affiliate of the Columbus Blue Jackets) at Copps Coliseum on Friday, November 2nd at 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs will then travel to the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester to take on the Americans (AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres / Florida Panthers) on Saturday, November 3rd at 7:35 p.m.
Last week, Hamilton posted a 1-2-0-0 record in three games. On Wednesday, October 24th, the Bulldogs dropped a 5-3 decision to the Grand Rapids Griffins at Copps Coliseum. The 'Dogs then split their back-to-back Saturday and Sunday games, losing 3-2 to the Toronto Marlies on October 27th at Ricoh Coliseum and downing the Rockford IceHogs 5-1 on October 28th at Copps Coliseum.
'DOGS LIVE ON CABLE 14: On Friday, November 2nd at 7:30 p.m. when the 'Dogs host the Syracuse Crunch at Copps Coliseum, fans can catch the game LIVE on Cable 14 with Todd Crocker (Play-By-Play), Norm Miller (Colour Commentary) and Laura Leigh (Ice-Level Host).

BULLDOGS NOTES:
- In three games last week, RW Sergei Kostitsyn had six points (1-5-6), a plus-1 rating, seven shots and four penalty minutes. Kostitsyn is currently on a team-high four-game assist and point streak (Oct. 21-28) with seven points (1-6-7) in that span. He is also leading the Bulldogs, tied for the league-lead among rookies, and is tied for third overall in AHL scoring with 12 points (3-9-12)
- RW Jonathan Ferland picked up two goals this past week and now leads the Bulldogs and is tied for third in the AHL with five goals on the season
- With a goal and two assists against the IceHogs on Sunday, C Corey Locke (57-108-165) moved into a third-place tie with Peter Sarno (42-123-165) on the Bulldogs all-time points list
- D Marvin Degon scored his first goal as a Bulldog, added an assist and recorded seven shots against Rockford on Sunday. Degon is now second in the AHL among defencemen with 32 shots so far this season
- G Jaroslav Halak turned aside 72 of the 76 shots he faced in two games last week, posting a save percentage of .947
- D Ryan O'Byrne scored his first regular season AHL goal in the 'Dogs win over the IceHogs on Sunday. O'Byrne had two goals in the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs

- This will be the second of eight meetings between the two clubs this season
- Syracuse edged Hamilton in their first encounter on October 19th by a score of 2-1 at the Onondaga War Memorial at Oncenter

- In last year's head-to-head match-up, Hamilton went 4-4-0 in eight contests versus Syracuse

- Saturday's game marks the third of eight contests between the two North Division foes
- Both teams earned road victories as Hamilton took the first game on October 7th by a 2-1 score in overtime, while Rochester was victorious in a shootout 5-4 in their second meeting on October 12th
- The Americans are currently in fifth place in the North Division with a record of 3-7-1-1 in 12 games, just one point behind the fourth place Bulldogs who have three games in hand
- In 10 games against the Amerks last season, the 'Dogs posted a 5-5-0-0 record
- Hamilton is 45-54-7-0-2 in 108 all-time contests against Rochester
- Americans forward Clarke MacArthur is currently leading the AHL in scoring with 14 points (5-9-14) in 11 games this season

- Dallas C Mike Ribeiro accumulated four points last week, with an assist in a 2-1 loss to Los Angeles (Oct. 25) and a goal and two assists in a 5-3 win over Phoenix (Oct. 27)
- Edmonton C Shawn Horcoff tallied three points this past week, with two goals in a 5-4 victory against Minnesota (Oct. 25) and an assist in a 3-2 win versus Anaheim (Oct. 28)
- Montreal C Tomas Plekanec earned two assists in a 6-1 victory over Boston (Oct. 22) and registered a career-high four points (2-2-4) in a 7-4 win against Carolina (Oct. 26)
- Montreal LW Chris Higgins collected two points last week, tallying a goal in a 6-1 win over Boston (Oct.22) and an assist in a 4-3 victory against Pittsburgh (Oct. 27)
- Edmonton LW Raffi Torres posted three assists in a 5-4 win over Minnesota (Oct. 25)

- Montreal G Cristobel Huet posted two wins last week, turning aside 31 of 32 shots in a 6-1 win versus Boston (Oct. 22) and making 32 saves on 36 shots in a 7-4 victory over Carolina
