Norfolk Admirals News Release

NORFOLK, VA - The Norfolk Admirals are in the middle of a tight East Division battle with only five points separating third to seventh place. The Admirals are also preparing for the sixth game of a nine-game stretch of matches against their division rivals. On Friday night at Scope, special teams were the Admirals' undoing as the East Division-leading Phantoms scored three power play and two shorthanded goals to defeat Norfolk 6-3. The Admirals charged out of the gates in the third period on Saturday night at Scope, as Blair Jones and Chris Lawrence netted goals in the period's first minute to lead Norfolk past Bridgeport 2-1. On Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia, the Phantoms edged Norfolk 3-2.

Next up for Norfolk are trips to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday and Bridgeport on Sunday. The Admirals square off against the Penguins at 7:05 Saturday night and they battle with the Sound Tigers at 4:00 on Sunday.
