Worcester Sharks News Release
WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr announced today that the second phase of the "Be A Leader" program will be launched on Tuesday, October 30th during a school assembly at the St. Peter's Elementary School in Worcester, MA.
Announced in late September by the Worcester Sharks and the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, the "Be A Leader" program is designed to provide students between the grades of 4-6 with leadership tips to enrich their lives as well as others around them. Sharks Defenseman Dan Spang and the Sharks Mascot Finz will be present at the school assembly on Tuesday along with a representative from the Worcester County Sherriff's Office.
Spang, a Winchester native and a Boston University graduate will take the lead at the assembly with the overall topic focused on self esteem.
"This assembly will be the first of many in the central Massachusetts area," said Lehr. "In partnership with the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, the "Be A Leader" program will help guide children to make better decisions everyday in hopes of a better future."
This exceptional "Be A Leader" program will make a minimum of two school appearances throughout the months of October through March. The program gathers students in a large assembly format where Dan Spang, Sharks staff, and community leaders will speak to students about leadership qualities and ways to better one's life.
Each participant in the program receives one ticket to an upcoming 2007-08 regular season Sharks home game, a Dan Spang autographed tip card and a "Be A Leader" promotional item compliments of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates.
"I am thrilled to see this program in full motion," said Abby Williams, principal of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates. "Our entire office is extremely excited about the program and can not wait to see it first hand."
